How Fanatics Instant Rips works and makes money

You buy a pack on Fanatics Collect, one card is revealed, and it goes to the Fanatics Collect Vault. The instant buyback pays Fanatics credit, not cash, and typically stays open 24 to 48 hours.

Questions about how Fanatics Instant Rips works

How does Fanatics Instant Rips work?

You buy a pack on Fanatics Collect and one authenticated or graded card is revealed on screen. It goes to the Fanatics Collect Vault. While the offer is open, typically 24 to 48 hours, you can take an instant offer paid in Fanatics credit. Otherwise you keep it vaulted, sell it on the marketplace or pay to have it shipped.

How does Fanatics Instant Rips make money?

Its own pages state: sell-back discount, fee on a sell-back, shipping or retrieval fee and marketplace seller fee. From its published numbers: pack price above average card value and total cut on a sell-back. We do not estimate margins or what Fanatics Instant Rips pays for cards.

Can you withdraw Fanatics Instant Rips credit?

No page we read says so. The terms class the instant buyback as promotional credits shared across Fanatics Collect and Fanatics Live. Cash comes only from selling the card on the marketplace, a separate route with a 6% seller fee, or 12% on a listing priced at 120% of market value or more.

Are Instant Rips and Topps Instant Packs the same?

No. An Instant Rips pack holds a single authenticated or graded card that goes to the Fanatics Collect Vault. Instant Packs is a separate product with its own help article. Fanatics Live also sells repacks inside its breaks under the Instant Rips name.
