Card breaks: where to buy a spot, and what you own
A break sells spots in a sealed box and opens it live. We read 4 platforms' own rules. Take a spot and open the box to see what you hold at each point.

Questions people ask
Where can I buy into a card break?
We read the public pages of Whatnot, Fanatics Live, eBay Live, and Loupe. All host live breaks run by sellers. They are listed in no order, and we have not rated or used any of them.
Do I own the cards as soon as I pay?
No. You own a spot. The box is opened once the spots are sold, the cards that match your spot are set aside, and the breaker posts them. Until then the breaker holds them.
Can a break spot get nothing?
A team's cards may not be in the box at all: Whatnot's and eBay's pages both say so. Whatnot and Fanatics Live still require that every buyer is sent a card.
What happens if a break does not fill?
On Whatnot, sellers should honour refund requests while the product is still sealed. On Fanatics Live, a pre-sale break may not be cancelled: it is moved and buyers must be told. eBay's and Loupe's pages that we read do not say.
Are wheels allowed in card breaks?
Not on Whatnot or Fanatics Live. Whatnot bans randomiser wheels and machines; Fanatics Live bans spins, rolls, roulette wheels and third-party randomised results. We found no such rule on the eBay or Loupe pages we read.
