Is it gambling, and playing safely

Unsettled, and we do not say whether it is legal where you live.

  • Google Play labels the app “In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items)” and “Cash Rewards”.
  • Wired reported on 2 July 2026 that Rips' terms call the experience different from gambling, and that two addiction researchers it interviewed called it gambling.
  • Triumph files its self-exclusion tool under a setting it calls “Responsible Gaming”.

Questions, sources and changes

Is Rips by Triumph legit?

It names its company, publishes terms and documents cash withdrawals from $6 and shipping to US addresses. We have not tested either. What it costs is not public: prices and odds sit inside the app.

Can you get real cards from Rips?

The terms say you can ask for a card to be shipped to a US address at your cost, and promise no delivery time. Users in forum threads report cards arriving. We have not received one.

How do you get free Rips packs?

Through a referral: both people get a starter or basic pack when a first-time downloader enters a code at sign-up. Triumph publishes no public promo code.

Does Rips work on Android?

Yes. Google Play lists Rips by Triumph from Triumph Labs Inc., with 1M+ downloads. Some reviews still say it is iPhone only.

Is there a Rips website?

No. The only web page is a brochure on triumphlabs.com with a button to the app.
