- £135 is $179.23 at the European Central Bank rate of 6 Oct 2026. The carrier’s own clearance fee is not in the sum.
What is added, as a share of the card’s value
Packs.com’s fee where it publishes one, plus tax, duty and border charges, for cards from $10 to $10,000.
- UK27% at $500
- EU26% at $500
- Canada19% at $500
- Australia6% at $500
A line falls as the card gets dearer because a flat shipping fee stops mattering, then steps where a country’s rules change. For the same card inside the US, see keep, sell or ship.
Where each country’s rules change
Every line is set in local currency. In dollars, at the European Central Bank rates of 6 October 2026:
| Where | Line | Above it |
|---|---|---|
| Canada, by mail | $14.04C$20 | GST and provincial tax begin |
| Canada, by courier | $28.07C$40 | GST and provincial tax begin |
| Canada, by courier | $105.27C$150 | Duty would begin; trading cards are Free |
| EU | $169.04€150 | The €3 postal duty gives way to the tariff rate |
| UK | $179.23£135 | Duty can apply; VAT moves from the seller to the delivery company |
| Australia | $698.20A$1,000 | 5% duty, 10% GST and declaration charges all begin |
Your bank’s rate on the day will differ, and customs uses its own. VAT in the UK and the EU has no lower line: it is owed from the first pound or euro. The value that counts is the one on the customs declaration, which the sender fills in.
Canada: the surtax on US-made cards
Since 8 September 2026, Canada charges 50% on US goods of the tariff item its own tariff files trading cards under.
A $500 card to Ontario by courier, before shipping
Bars are drawn against the card’s $500 value. Red is surtax, the other colour is sales tax.
The tariff’s note files “collectors’ cards such as baseball cards, hockey cards, football cards” under item 4911.91.00, which is on the surtax list. For a personal import the test is the mark on the goods. Where a given card was printed, and whether customs treats a game card the same way, is not confirmed.

“At least” is a handling or base fee with the carrier’s price left out. “About” is a fee set in gems. Beezie prices shipping abroad although its terms limit use to the US. Where each app posts is in rip apps outside the US.

The EU’s €3 line is from the tariff itself, which names Regulation (EU) 2026/382. The Commission’s shopper page still describes the €150 relief that regulation ended. Northern Ireland follows different rules from Great Britain and is not in the sum.
What the sum cannot know
Three things no rule page and no app page settles for your parcel.
The carrier’s clearance fee
Not pricedPosts and couriers charge for handling customs. The European Commission’s page says these charges vary from company to company; no rule page read sets an amount. It is not in any figure here. The tariff code
Customs decidesThe sum uses the code each tariff points to for trading cards. An officer can class a slab differently, and the sender writes the description and the value.Who collects under the line
Not confirmedUnder £135 the UK puts VAT on the seller, and the EU lets a seller prepay it. None of the app pages read says it does either.Questions people ask
Do I pay import tax on a graded card sent from a US app to the UK?
By the rules on GOV.UK, read on 7 October 2026: VAT at 20% is charged on goods sent to Great Britain from abroad at any value, on the card, the postage and any duty. A $500 card posted by Packs.com comes to $135.66 on top. The delivery company’s own handling fee is extra and not published by the rules.
Is there customs duty on trading cards?
Often not, by the tariffs as published. The UK tariff’s search sends “trading cards” to a code at 0%, and the EU rate on that code is 0%. Canada’s tariff lists trading cards as Free. Australia’s general rate is 5%, charged above A$1,000. Customs decides the code for your parcel; classed as playing cards, the UK charges 2% and the EU 2.7%.
Why does the tool say “at least”?
Because a cost is not published. 9 of the 19 apps that post abroad put no dollar figure on it, and 5 publish only a handling or base fee. Type the quote from your checkout and the figure becomes a sum of what is known.
Does the app’s shipping fee cover customs?
None of the app pages read says so. Those that mention it say duties and import taxes are yours to pay. Which apps post to your country at all is in the guide to rip apps outside the US.

Every figure was read on public pages between 6 October 2026 and 7 October 2026. Nothing here has been tested with money yet. The customs pages and tariffs were read on 7 October 2026, and nothing has been shipped or declared. This is arithmetic on published rules, not tax advice: your customs authority’s assessment is the one that counts. How apps are scored is on the rating method page.
