Gemint review: what do you get back?

Gemint prints its sell-back rate on every pack page: 90% of its own value for the card. Its script adds a 3% fee, and the $5 pack mostly holds booster packs, not slabs.

Is Gemint worth it?

How you withdraw, the minimum, the shipping cost and the list of barred states are not on any public page, and the contract is with a British Virgin Islands company.

Sell-back at 90% of Gemint's value, less a 3% fee, to a balance you can withdraw

You keep

87.3%

of the value it puts on the card, on a sell-back, paid as site credit.

Odds: public.

For

  • The sell-back rate is on every pack page, without an account.
  • A named company with a registration number and address in the terms.
  • Seven price points from $5 to $250, each showing its top card and pool.
  • The terms pass title to the physical card to you at the reveal.

Against

  • The 3% fee is not on the pack page that advertises 90%.
  • The list of barred states is promised and not published.
  • Withdrawal methods, minimums and shipping costs are behind sign-in.
  • The $5 pack is mostly booster packs, on a site that sells itself on graded cards.
  • British Virgin Islands law, arbitration and no app-store presence to check.

Pick it if

A Pokémon collector who wants the sell-back rate in view before buying and is content to check their own state's position first.

Skip it if

Anyone who needs the withdrawal route and shipping cost in writing before paying, wants sports or One Piece packs, or expects a slab from the $5 pack.

Where we read the prices

Each pack page has a “Pull rates by card value” panel, with a value range and a rate per tier. We read its layout, not its figures, so none are quoted here. The top card shown ran from $12 in the $5 pack to $4,200 in the $250 pack, by Gemint's own values.

Sell-backs are paid in Gemint Balance credit, so we do not simulate a cash session here. Try the pack simulator on an app that publishes its odds and its sell-back rate.

Is the sell-back offer fair?

  • Gemint's terms call it “an online retailer of physical trading cards”. That is its own description, not a regulator's.
  • You pay a fixed price for a random card, can sell it straight back for a balance, and can withdraw from that balance.
  • The terms admit it “may be unavailable in certain U.S. states” and do not name them on a public page.
  • Pack battles put two to four buyers in one opening, with one player taking “the main allocation”.
  • No self-exclusion tool or spending limit was found.

Questions, sources and changes

Is Gemint legit?

It names its company, publishes terms and prints its sell-back rate on each pack page. It does not publish its barred states, withdrawal methods or shipping costs. We have not tested a purchase, a withdrawal or a delivery.

Can you cash out on Gemint?

By its terms, yes: a sell-back is credited to your Gemint Balance and you “may withdraw eligible amounts”, after an identity check. The methods and minimum are not on a public page.

What is Gemint's buyback rate?

Pack pages say 90% of FMV, Gemint's own value for the card. The reveal screen's text says “less a 3% platform fee”. The terms guarantee neither.

Does Gemint pay buybacks in USDT?

No public page says so. The terms say sell-back proceeds go to a Gemint Balance, and that prices are in US dollars. They also say digital assets may be accepted as payment.

Are all Gemint packs graded cards?

No. The $5 Quartz Basic Pack's page listed mostly booster packs. The $15, $50 and $250 pack pages listed single cards, and recent pulls there were PSA, CGC and BGS slabs.

Who owns Gemint?

The terms name J Lab Ltd., registered in the British Virgin Islands under number 2209996, with its affiliate Clearlake Inc., a Delaware corporation, as seller of record.

Which states can't use Gemint?

Gemint's terms say some US states are barred and that the list is on its site. We could not find it in the help centre or on any public page.
