A factory booster versus an app pack

They share a name and little else.

Not what it looks like

Three things a search for Pokémon rip apps turns up that are not a real-card, cash-out app.

Virtual goods

ripz.gg's age gate says purchases are virtual goods with no real-world monetary value. Only certain cards can be redeemed for a physical copy.ripz.gg FAQ

Re-created packs, paid in coins

Packs.com says its packs are reverse-engineered versions of real boosters. Cards ship, but sell-backs pay site coins and there are no cash withdrawals.Packs.com

Questions people ask

What is the best Pokémon card ripping app?

Arena Club has the highest desk rating among apps that sell Pokémon packs, at 4.4 out of 5. That rates what it publishes, not how it performed in a test.

Are these official Pokémon packs?

No. The apps here sell repacks: cards the operator bought and put into its own digital packs. None of the operator pages we read claims a licence from The Pokémon Company.

Is the Rips Pokémon card app legit?

Its terms name a company, set an 18+ limit and describe cash withdrawals from $6. We have not tested a withdrawal or a delivery. Our guide splits the question in two.

Can you get real Pokémon cards from an app?

Every app ranked here says it will ship physical cards; ripz.gg only certain ones. 10 of 27 do not publish what shipping costs.
