What does selling one card leave you?

The sell-back is one way out. See it beside the app's own marketplace, eBay, Whatnot, TCGplayer and Fanatics Collect, each at the fees on its own page, read on 7 October 2026.

Your side of the sum

These are yours, not any marketplace's. At these numbers the card sells for $100 and the buyer is charged no shipping.

A marketplace line climbs as the card gets dearer because postage and the fixed fees stop mattering. It steps up again where a fee tier or cap begins. The app's deadline on the sell-back is in keep, sell or ship.

A listing inside the app needs no postage and no shipping charge, which is why a low in-app fee often tops the comparer. It also needs a buyer inside that app, at your price. Nothing on these pages says how long that takes.

How one row is worked out

A $100 card sold on eBay from your own hands, shipped free to the buyer, no sales tax.

Sale price$100
Final value fee, 13.25%− $13.25
Per-order fee− $0.40
Postage you pay− $5
Left with you$81.35

eBay charges its percentage on everything the buyer pays, so sales tax and any shipping you charge raise the fee. Whatnot and TCGplayer charge their processing part the same way. Add your buyer's tax rate in the tool to see it.

What the fee pages do not tell you

A fee comparison is a sum. A sale also takes time and can fail, and no fee page prices that.

Whether it sells

Not pricedEvery marketplace figure assumes a buyer at your price. The sell-back needs no buyer, but it has a deadline and may pay in site credit.

Returns and disputes

Not pricedA refund or a lost parcel can undo a sale after the fee sum is done. No fee page puts a rate on that.

Getting the card out

Often not publishedMost apps show their shipping charge only at checkout, and a Fanatics Collect listing needs the card in its vault.

Questions people ask

Which marketplace has the lowest fees for trading cards?

On the fee pages read on 7 October 2026, Fanatics Collect's Buy Now fee is the lowest percentage at 6%, but the card must be in its vault. Of the three you post a card to a buyer from, Whatnot takes least from a $100 card and eBay most. The order changes with the card's value: drag the slider.

Is the app's sell-back better than selling on eBay?

It depends on the rate and the card. A sell-back at 90% of value leaves more than eBay's 13.25% fee does at almost any price. One at 85% is overtaken once the card is dear enough to absorb postage. The table gives the value for each app.

Why does the comparer say “at most” for some routes?

Because a cost on that route is not published: most apps show their shipping charge only at checkout. Type the quote you are shown and the figure becomes exact. Keep, sell or ship covers that charge app by app.

Does a sale always reach the price the app shows?

No. The app sets its own value, and a marketplace sale can land below it or not happen. Set what you expect in “Sells for”, and check one card against sold prices in the offer checker.
