3 of 27 publish one price that covers a one-card US shipment, which is the figure the tool needs. The rest quote a part of it or show it only at checkout. Graded cards in a vault are the usual case: see the slab pack ranking or how Arena Club works.
The sum, so you can check it
Worked for a $100 card on Arena Club, with the tool's starting assumptions. Those three are ours, not any marketplace's.

$100 × 90% − 10% fee − $5 postage≤ $76Before the app's shipping charge: no all-in price is published.Break-even
($90 buyback + $5 postage) ÷ (1 − 10% fee)> $105.56The sale price shipping has to beat, before the app's shipping charge. By card value: never at these numbers.Questions people ask
Should I take the buyback?
Take it when the tool shows it ahead and you want money, not the card. It is fast and its terms are in writing where an app publishes them. Whether ripping pays at all is a separate question, covered in is card ripping worth it.
Is it worth shipping cards from a rip app?
Only above the break-even, and only if the card sells near the value the app put on it. Low-value cards rarely clear postage plus the app's shipping charge. We have not shipped a card from any app, so delivery times here are the apps' own statements.
Why can the tool not price shipping for most apps?
Because 3 of 27 apps publish one all-in US shipping price the tool can subtract. Several publish a part of it, such as a handling fee or a starting price. Most show it only at checkout. Type the quote you are shown and the gap closes; the number is marked as yours.
Is the app's stated value what the card would sell for?
Not necessarily. Each app sets the value itself. On a small sample, three apps showed values above the market price. Check one offer against the card's market price in the offer checker. The cash-out page quotes what each app says about its valuation.
