What each app changed, before and after

An app can rewrite its terms and change only the date at the top. Here is each changed clause, before and after, with dated copies of both.

No change to an odds table or a pack price is logged yet: our record of those starts on 6 October 2026. Figures that move with a pack's stock are re-read and filed as live figures. Our own mistakes are a separate list, on the corrections page.

Which way the changes went

Each entry carries our reading of the clause: worse for the customer, better, or either way depending on the case.

worse for you9

  • ▼ Worse for you
  • ▲ Better for you
  • ◆ Cuts both ways

A long bar is not a bad mark. Rips by Triumph has the most entries because the archive holds the most copies of its documents, and 4 of its changes favour the customer. An app with no bar has no earlier copy to compare, which is not the same as no change.

Our own record of every app starts on 6 October 2026. Anything older comes from copies the Internet Archive happened to keep.

How a change gets logged

A new date at the top of a document is not an entry. The clause that moved is.

1Two dated copiesAn archived capture and a later one, or a capture and the live page. One copy alone logs nothing.
2Compare the clausesSentence by sentence: fees, limits, windows, sell-back, shipping, odds and where the app works.
3Quote bothThe old words and the new, each linked to the copy it was read in, so anyone can check.
4Mark the effectWorse, better or either way for the customer, with a note where it depends on the case.

The log records what a document said on two dates. It does not show that an app applied a change to any account, or why it made it: nothing here was tested. It is a selection of clauses that touch money, time or access, not every edit an app made. How facts are sourced is on how we rate.

Questions people ask

Do card rip apps change their odds?

13 of the 27 apps say their odds move as cards leave a pack. We have not logged a change to a published odds table yet: our first read was on 6 October 2026. What the log holds so far is terms: one app rewrote how it describes its odds, and one stated pack value moved by a dollar.

How do I know when an app changes its terms?

None of the documents we compared marks what moved. At most the date at the top changes, and Courtyard added a section while its date stayed the same. Packz's terms say that using the service after a change is posted counts as agreeing to it. This log compares dated copies and shows the clause that moved, with both wordings.

Why are some changes marked “cuts both ways”?

Because the effect depends on your case. A buyback locked at the purchase-day value helps if the card falls and costs you if it rises. A change of governing law or company name changes nothing you pay. Those are logged and not scored.

Is this the same as your corrections page?

No. Corrections is what we got wrong in our own data and fixed. This page is what the apps changed in their own documents, whether or not it touched a figure of ours.
