Getting a card out of a vault: flat fee or a cut?

PSA charges a flat fee to release a card. Fanatics Collect takes a share of its value. Here is what each vault's own page charges to ship a card or sell it from the vault, and the card value where they swap places.

PSA's fee, not GameStop's: GameStop's own page says only “a small shipping fee”. Read in the Internet Archive's copy of PSA's vault page dated 27 August 2026, because psacard.com refused our requests on 7 October 2026, so the figures may have changed since. PSA's page says the early fee “will be waived for all items purchased through Power Packs early access” and does not say so for packs bought later. The PSA Vault terms add that fees may depend on value, shipping method and insurance.

eBay's vault is now PSA's

eBay's own vault page describes the PSA Vault. Selling from it means PSA lists the card on eBay for one fee.

PSA applies one band's rate to the whole price: “A $200 sale is subject to the 13% rate fee applied to sales in the $100-$499 range.” Archived copy of 31 July 2026. The live page refused our request on 7 October 2026.

The widest gap: a sale at $4,999 pays $99.91 more in fees than one at $5,000. PSA says sellers pay no eBay fees on top and the buyer covers shipping.

Fanatics Collect says a posted card can take “a total of 17 to 22 business days” to appear in its vault. Whether a card sits in a vault you can reach at all is the subject of if an app shuts down.

“Prices include shipping and liability and 1 Lb free.”

From two rate tables published as images in an older part of the documentation; the image files are dated 11 March 2025. The current terms give no amount: “A per-item withdrawal fee applies to each claim and is displayed before you confirm the redemption.” Import duties and sales tax are extra.

Refusedpsacard.com returned an error to every request on 7 October 2026. PSA's figures here are from archived copies and may have changed since.

Value-based PSA charges

No amountThe PSA Vault Terms, last updated 29 September 2026, say: “The final amount of fees due may depend on the value of your item at the time of withdrawal”. The fee list gives flat amounts only.

When the 90 days start

Not statedPSA's early fee is for “items vaulted less than 90 days”; Fanatics Collect's is “within 90 days of archival”. Neither page says whether a card bought already in the vault starts a new count.

The Power Packs waiver today

UnclearPSA waives the early fee for cards “purchased through Power Packs early access”. It does not say so for packs bought since.

Fanatics Collect shipping

EstimateIts chart, on a page dated 23 September 2026, is published for auction wins. The page does not say it prices a vault withdrawal: “Final prices are posted on the shipping invoice.”

A vault-to-vault transfer

Questions people ask

How much does it cost to take a card out of PSA Vault?

On PSA's page as archived on 27 August 2026: $5.99 a shipment to a US address, covering up to 50 items, plus $1.99 an item. A card vaulted under 90 days pays $4.99 more. One card is $7.98, or $12.97 early.

Does eBay still have its own vault?

eBay's vault page now describes PSA's: it calls the PSA Vault “the official vault for eBay” and sends support questions to PSA. Selling from it goes through PSA's eBay store at PSA's consignment rates.

Can I move a card from PSA Vault to Fanatics Collect without shipping it home?

Neither operator's pages describe a direct transfer. On what is published, a move is a withdrawal from one vault, a parcel you post, and the other vault's intake.

Is PSA Vault or Fanatics Collect cheaper to ship from?

It depends on the card. PSA's listed fees are the same whatever it is worth; Fanatics Collect charges a share of its value plus shipping. For one card, PSA's fee is the lower one from about $250 with Fanatics Collect's shipping estimate, or from $799 on its fee alone.
