A seed hash stops a result being changed after you pay. It says nothing about the table itself: see what provably fair proves.

The clause that makes every box “worth its price”

HypeDrop and PackDraw say in their terms that a box always returns its price in value. Both count XP as part of that value.

HypeDrop, Chinese Pokemon box, $41.77: two outcomes as its page shows them

True Mystery booster box: 1.5% of opensItem $39.99 + 712 XP ($1.78) = $41.77
Gem Pack Vol. 4 booster pack: 5.5% of opens, the most likelyItem $2.49 + about 15,700 XP (about $39) ≈ $42

XP priced at HypeDrop's own rate of $1 = 400 XP. Its terms: “Our Credits and XP cannot be transferred between players or exchanged for real-money.”

“the value of Items obtained in a Box will be equal to or greater than the Box's retail price as the supplemental XP has fair market value set at 1USD=400XP”
HypeDrop, terms of service, read 7 October 2026
“At all times, it shall be ensured that the value of the Item(s) and/or XP disclosed within a Pack shall be equivalent to or surpass the monetary consideration paid for said Pack.”
PackDraw, terms of service, read 7 October 2026

So the sums above count goods only. With XP added at the stated rate, both outcomes drawn here come to the box price, which is how the clause holds.

Questions people ask

What is a mystery box site?

A site that sells a random draw from a published list of items. You pay to open a box, a draw picks one item, and you ship it or exchange it for site credit or, at some sites, crypto.

Do mystery box sites publish their odds?

The 7 read here do: each box page we read lists every item with a chance and a value. None prints what the table adds up to. On the boxes we summed it came to 80% to 90.1% of the price in listed value.

What is the house edge on a mystery box?

Cases.gg is the only one of the 7 that states one: 10% on cases. Its box summed to 89.5% of the price, within a point of it. The others state none, so the sum is the only figure there is.

Is a listed item value what I can sell it for?

Not necessarily. RillaBox's listed values add up to more than the box costs, and a site paying those back would lose money on every open. HypeDrop charges an exchange fee shown only at the point of exchange.
